Inspiring Students During Manufacturing Month

Manufacturing Month is almost here and we are thrilled to share MAKE is partnering with Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA) and Creative Planning, for a special initiative aimed at connecting manufacturers with local schools.

At the heart of this initiative is our manufacturing kid’s books series - Blake Explores Manufacturing and Blake Prepares for Manufacturing, to teach kids about manufacturing through storytelling. In each book, Blake, the main character, is learning about what is essential for success in manufacturing through his own curiosity and the help of team members at his dad’s manufacturing business. These stories give students an age-appropriate, engaging way to learn about an industry that has an incredible impact on our daily lives.

To kick off the effort, there is an exclusive promotion for MPMA members, designed to make it easy for local manufacturers to connect with the next generation. Manufacturers are invited to take a book into a classroom, read it to students, and share their own story about what it’s like to work in manufacturing. This personal connection builds awareness of career opportunities and inspires the next generation to imagine themselves as makers, builders, and innovators. These books make manufacturing approachable and fun for kids, while giving manufacturers an easy way to connect with the next generation.
